![]() The Spanish scientists concluded that giant sea turtles did not only develop in North America but now also in Europe. The fossil can be found in the Natural History Museum of Vienna and is estimated to have lived about 70 million years ago. The largest sea turtle fossil recorded in the world was found in South America, it is called Archelon ischyros and is 4.5 m long. The research team estimated that the ancient animal lived during the Cretaceous Period, making it at least 72 million years old. The researchers published the paper of the discovery in the Scientific Reports journal on November 17, 2022. 'Turtle' may either refer to the Testudines as a whole, or to particular Testudines which make up a form taxon that is not monophyleticsee also sea turtle, terrapin, tortoise. The two partial limb fossils from the ancient sea turtle Atlantochelys mortoni fit together perfectly, leaving little room for doubt that they are from the same bone. The Loggerhead Sea Turtle is the most common one to nest on our beaches. Turtles are reptiles of the order Testudines (the crown group of the superorder Chelonia), characterised by a special bony or cartilaginous shell developed from their ribs that acts as a shield. "Leviathan" is a biblical term for a sea monster while "chelys" translates as turtle and "aenigmatica" translates to enigma - in reference to the strange characteristics of the turtle. Loggerhead Sea turtles have been part of our geological fossil records for over. The species was named Leviathanochelys aenigmatica. They soon returned to the site to conduct more excavations. Researchers at the Catalan Institute of Paleontology of the Autonomous University of Barcelona, led by Ángel Luján and Albert Seles, began studying the bones in 2021, and realized that they had a new species of sea turtle completely new to science. Archelon, extinct giant sea turtle known from fossilized remains found in North American rocks of the Late Cretaceous epoch (100 million to 66 million years ago). The fossil was discovered by a hiker in 2016 in the Pyrenees mountains of northern Spain, but no one examined the bones for nearly five years. In 2021, scientists discovered an unknown species of a huge ancient sea turtle in Spain with a length of 3.74 m, which is now the largest sea turtle found in Europe. Until recently these prehistoric giants, reaching over 3 meters in length from head to tail, were thought to be found only in the waters surrounding North America. Apparently, millions of years ago giant sea turtles swam in Earth's seas. ![]()

![]() ![]() PS5 showcase left out multiple games claim insiders as calls for second event mountīut it’s amazing what it gets away with in the guise of a kids’ game, with multiple characters that can fly in full 3D (and aircraft for those that can’t) and a huge variety of moves accessed through just three or four buttons. ![]() Because even though it’ll take longer you can still win just by blindly punching, A standard block or dodge move would have helped too. ![]() Our only concern is that there’s no real reward, beyond a slightly higher score, for playing the game ‘properly’. The Lego games have always served as useful intros to console gaming for inexperienced players, and this is particularly good practise. These are proper boss battles with health bars that take a long time to whittle down, and often require a specific technique to beat them. They’re usually not overtly puzzle-based but instead are almost like a junior version of God Of War (we wouldn’t go quite as far as to compare it to Bayonetta). This game though is focused very much on boss battles. Recently they have been trying to diversify though, with the Star Wars games focusing on shooting, complete with their own cover system, while Ninjago introduced slightly more involved melee combat. There’s not much competition for multiformat games aimed at kids, but especially when playing co-op you need the blackest of hearts (or a pathological disinterest in whatever the theme of the game is) not to enjoy them. The appeal of the Lego games is always the characters themselves, but the reason they’ve lasted this long is that the gameplay itself is also perfectly solid. Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 (PS4) – Squirrel Girl, Chipmunk Hunk, and Koi Boi, obviously We also applaud using Giant Man to steal visual jokes from Police Squad, and the Game of Thrones references when dealing with Maximus from the Inhumans. Some of the animation work is great too, from Iron Fist accidently burning himself when he scratches his backside to the extra effort taken to animate Ms Marvel’s rubbery body. It’s certainly easy to tell which characters and concepts TT Games have the most fondest for, with the Spider-Man Noir world being an obvious labour of love. We were particularly enamoured by the Squirrel Girl stage, which features two of her supporting cast and specific references to one of her best story arcs, but whichever is your favourite Marvel obscurity it seems to be catered for here. ![]() There’s also a large number of smaller levels introed by Gwenpool (since Marvel don’t have the Deadpool movie rights), which is where developer TT Games really let themselves go in terms of fan service. These are shorter than usual but also more numerous, which is for the best as they did have a tendency to go on a bit in previous games. The structure of the game is the same as other Lego titles, with the open world featuring dozens, if not hundreds, of side quests while the story primarily takes place in separate stages with the traditional fixed camera angles. And having them all squished together into one open world environment is an enjoyably surreal sight. To be honest, Kang isn’t a terribly interesting villain but the 18 different locations, from Medieval England to an alternate Earth where Hydra won, certainly add variety. The Guardians Of The Galaxy are nominally the focus of the story, which involves a supervillain called Kang the Conqueror who has taken parts of planets from across time and space and melded them together to form ‘Chronopolis’. ![]() ![]() ![]() caboodles makeup case suppliers and wholesalers can make bulk purchases from the site and easily meet all their varied demands. Probably in terms of influence and love Susan Cooper, Neil Gaiman, Alice Hoffman, Mary Stewart, and Tolkien. Can you name your top five favorite or most influential authors? Right now those books are Travels by Hans Christian Andersen, The Way We Lived Then: Recollections of a Well-Known Name Dropper by Dominick Dunne, and The World of Shabby Chic by Rachel Ashwell. What’s currently on your nightstand?Ī felt bee made by my daughter, a business card for a gorgeous clothing store I fell in love with in Nantucket and regret not buying anything from, and what I call ‘comfort books’-books I can read a few pages of before I go to sleep that doesn’t cause me stress. There are so many gorgeous lines in the book that hint as stories we’ll never know, and so I think we’re always left imagining them to ourselves-and if we are very lucky, as I am, sharing those ideas with others. As the boy who wouldn’t grow up, Peter has so much room to be reimagined and reinvented, both by readers and writers. The original Peter Pan story is just so brilliant and wistful and melancholy, but also sparse-like a beautiful charcoal line drawing instead of a full oil painting. I haven’t read or seen a bad Peter Pan interpretation-yet! What do you think it is about Peter Pan that makes him such an enduring character and that draws you, as an author, and/or readers to his stories? I also love the YA novel Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson and the Peter and the Starcatchers series by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, particularly the audio version read by Jim Dale. It’s lush and brilliant and melancholy in all the right places. I love, love, love the 2003 live action film with Jeremy Sumpter. But I also realize it might be so bad that it could be fun to answer.) Do you have a favorite Peter Pan pastiche, television or motion picture adaptation/interpretation, or production? A least favorite? (I realize that you may not want to address this one and if that is the case, please don’t. But that’s also what makes Peter Pan such an evergreen story-that Barrie left so much on the table for others to interpret. But when I’d finished Darling Girl, it did occur to me that some people who loved Peter Pan might not be happy with my version of the story, even though I don’t think it is a huge stretch from the original, if you read it with a critical eye. I try and write just for me-the type of story I love to read and look for on bookstore shelves. Were you intimidated by the idea of writing a new work based on such well-known novels and characters as Peter Pan? ![]() I tend to think a lot about a story before I start writing it, so the bones usually stay the same, but during the actual process, this book became less about Peter Pan and more about the Darling women, their hopes and dreams and perspectives. How did the novel evolve and change as you wrote and revised it? Are there any characters or scenes that were lost in the process that you wish had made it to the published version? Darling felt, and later Wendy, standing at the window watching their daughters fly away. But also the very mixed emotions I felt as my oldest child approached leaving for college. Barrie’s sad and fascinating life, and, of course, Peter Pan itself. Inspiration included a crazy dream I had about a Wendy look-alike trapped in a tower and hooked up to medical devices, J.M. Inspiration is often fickle and eclectic, and that’s true of this book as well. What was your inspiration for Darling Girl? Darling Girl is her second novel and she recently talked about it with Daryl Maxwell for the LAPL Blog. She is the author of Evenfall and a contributor to WriterUnboxed, dubbed a “best of the best” website for writers by Writer’s Digest. She lives with her family in Massachusetts, where she loves reading fairy tales and sometimes writing them.
